16th Annual Symposium on Maritime Archaeology and History of Hawai`i and the Pacific

______________________________________________________________________________________

February 19-21, 2005 . Pacific Beach Hotel . Honolulu, HI
Call for Papers Deadline: November 15, 2004

The Marine Option Program (MOP) and Department of Anthropology at the University of Hawai`i at Mānoa, and the Maritime Archaeology and History of the Hawaiian Islands (MAHHI) Foundation are co-sponsors of the symposium, Presidents’ Day weekend of 2005. The theme of this year’s symposium is “Pacific Connections Through the Ages.” We will again be holding this year’s conference at the Pacific Beach Hotel, directly across the street from Waikīkī Beach.

For those attendees who require lodging, we have negotiated a nightly rate of $122.00, a substantial discount of their normal room rate of over $200.00! We realize that some of our long-time attendees that travel from outside Hawai`i may have established a favorite Waikīkī hotel, but we respectfully ask that you consider staying at the Pacific Beach Hotel.

The convenience and the special price make it a wise choice. Also, since we have rooms set aside at the location of the symposium, we will not be providing transportation to the symposium from other locations.
