The Florida Pioneer Museum Association kicks off its 2005 lecture series with an interesting look at shipwrecks over the years in what is now Biscayne National Park.
The lecture is at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Old Town Hall Museum at 41 N. Krome Ave. in downtown Homestead.
The public is invited, and the lectures are free.
Brenda Lanzendorf, archaeologist at Biscayne National Park, will speak on existing marine artifacts in the park.
This evening lecture offers a great opportunity to learn about early shipwrecks off our shores.
Many of these ships sank when Florida was under Spanish rule, and they offer a rare glimpse into life in the Americas and Europe at that time.
Call Bob Naumann at 305-242-0144 for more information.
