Australian Govt announces historic shipwrecks protection

The New South Wales Government has announced heritage protection for two recently discovered historic shipwrecks on the state's far south coast.
The wrecks of the TSS Bega, lost in 1908, and the Liberty ship William Dawes, sunk by a Japanese submarine in World War II, were recently found by local divers near Tathra.
They will be protected under the Historic Shipwrecks Act.
