The submarine is still in the US.

Plans to take people around a sunken warship in a mini submarine off the Cornwall coast have been delayed.

The National Marine Aquarium (NMA) in Plymouth planned to use the submarine Alicia to tour HMS Scylla which was sunk last year.

But the sub is still in the US where technical and contractual matters need to be resolved.

The aquarium says it hopes to be able to launch the sub-sea expeditions next year. Deposits will be returned.

The Scylla, decommissioned in 1993, was bought by the NMA and sunk off Whitsand Bay in March.

Marlin Submarines constructed the six-seat 11m-long craft at its Plymouth workshop.

The sub, which can carry passengers down to 160ft, has an acrylic viewing pod.
