At least six relics in a 10,000 square metre area fast
becoming Plei Krong lakebed need to be unearthed.

Once the Plei Krong hydropower plant is operational, 20 of 47 archaeological sites in Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands) will be submerged, burying a vast array of valuable relics", archaeologists lament.
According to archaeologists, at least six relics in a 10,000 square metre area fast becoming Plei Krong lakebed need to be unearthed. Sadly, the water level rose to 513 meters on May 30th, covering several unexcavated.

Each of these sites belongs to a linked collection of villages. Kon Tom province has a large number of these Lung Leng Culture throwbacks, notably in areas edging on Kon Tum Township, and in the Sa Thay and Dak districts.

The 20 relics under the Plei Krong hydroelectric plant reservoir are an inseparable part Tay Nguyen and Lung Leng history. Therefore, it is essential to unearth and systematically study these heritage sites.

Those remaining will serve as indicators for an overview of culture in Tay Nguyen and wider regions.

Identifying dates and evaluating cultural and historical facets of these relics is done through excavations, requiring thorough study and comparison with many other relics.
