Check out a replica of the H.L. Hunley, a submarine that sank in 1864 during a battle with a Union warship in Charleston Harbor, at the H.L. Hunley exhibition at the Adventure in Science, History & Nature building at Broadway at the Beach.
The Hunley, the first submarine to sink a warship, was discovered in 1995 and raised in 2000.
